This course allows guest users to enterThis course will focus on helping you acquire the practical skills necessary to effectively manage and teach English listening/speaking skills classes with video. It is intended to produce more competent and versatile practitioners and materials developers working in the field of English language education. Examples of exercises, activities, and tasks commonly used in video-based classes will be described in detail and demonstrated in context throughout the course.
LEARNING AIMS
Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to
• sequence, set up, and run a video-based listening skills lesson;
• distinguish between a form-focused exercise from a communicative task;
• locate and adapt various Web-based video resources for their own purposes;
• produce more visually appealing and pedagogically sound instructional material; and
• evaluate the effectiveness of a video-based lesson and give and receive constructive feedback.
